Lan-Tech, Inc., a Marietta based company, has been providing IT services to law firms since 1993. While most of the company’s clients are in the metro-Atlanta area, some are in such diverse areas as New York, Florida and even Hong Kong. Lan-Tech is one of the few companies in the nation which provides complete IT services to law firms, by supporting both the network and legal applications. Lan-Tech is recognized by both it’s peers and vendors as a company which can solve the most difficult IT issues. Although Lan-Tech specializes in supporting law firms, we do have many clients from other businesses.
Job Description
The position will require handling client issues and include resolving problems related to software, network connectivity, file and e-mail servers, DNS, hardware failures, etc. Responsibilities will include setup of new workstations and users, monitoring servers for errors and preventative maintenance and other duties as required by client needs. The applicant must be committed to client service, be self motivated but also able to work well as a team player. Being a quick learner with strong troubleshooting ability is also a must. Weekend and after hours support will be part of the job.
Additional training on applications will be required in order to service clients. The training and certification may be conducted on the weekend or out of town.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of IT support experience
- Desktop support / End user support
- Network Administration
Required Skills
- Windows 2000/2003 Server and active directory knowledge
- Windows 2000/XP desktop systems
- Routers and Firewall configuration
- Network backup software
- Anti-spam software
- Anti-Virus software
Additional Desirable Skill - Certification/Experience in legal applications including practice management, document management and litigation management.
- Familiar with cell phones and ability to sync mobile devices with applications.
- Experience with scanners and scanning applications.
- Experience/Knowledge with Trend Micro, Backup Exec, Cisco Firewalls and Routers, Worldox, iManage, Time Matters, Practice Master, Summation, Concordance
Pay and Benefits
As the position is flexible in hours worked and vacation time, the pay may range from $45,000 to $70,000 per year.
A choice of healthcare plans are available. Company will make contributions to Simple IRA plans of 3% of salary up to the maximum required by law.
